The Brain Should Rest

I moved into this small rental place last October. You probably already knew that, but let's pretend you're new here, just for giggles. (For those of you who didn't give up profanity as your New Year's Resolution, you can say Shits n Giggles.)
Several boxes have gone unpacked for those months, mainly craft crap.
I wish I had taken a "before" pic, but in hindsight all things...yadda yadda yadda...
The other place had built-in storage. This place, not so much. I spontaneously bought these stack-able closet organizers at Target and put them together for my brand new "Craft Like a Rock Star" craft center. Then I had to custom make the boxes to put into the cubbies, because those cubbies are actually supposed to hold shoes, not craft supplies, and you can't buy storage containers that size anywhere. I looked on Pinterest, hoping to find an amazing way to quickly produce the damn (shucks, I mean darn) things, but nothing I found was quite right for my project. I busted out the old T-square and some decorative paper left over from my artsy fartsy purse-making days, and conjured up some amazing boxes.
So I took some pictures. Don't ask me how to make these. This is not a craft blog.

Look, I even color-coordinated a couple of them!

But that's not what I wanted to show you.
This is.

It's an old print of mine I bought at a yard sale many, many years ago.
The artist simply signed Madeline. It was printed in 1976.
I want to find out more about it. Does anybody else recognize it?
I searched the web over and through. No luck.

  1. I love mystery boxes! My ex had tons of them. Sadly none of them contained anything as cool as "Madeline"... they were mostly filled with clothes from 82 that would never fit him again.

  2. How did you make those? I require instruction...;p

Seriously, that is intriguing print. It looks familiar, but I'm as in the dark about it as you.

  3. Hey those boxes look nice (can't say anything else regarding this, as I'm a man). We know what you mean about storage space: we rent a 2 bed house that's so fucking small it's a joke. How are these places allowed to be built like this?

  4. Julianna, I also found a telephone with a cord and five or six floppy disks with no labels...

Robbie- It looks great on my wall. A couple of people have asked me if I drew it. (I wish I did, but I was only three years old in 1976...)

Dicky- I like the small space, only because it deters the kids from moving back in with me. Three down. One to go.

  5. Nice print. Sometimes you can bb lucky and find good stuff on yard sale.

We still have some boxes that we haven't opened since we moved in 10 years ago. In the meantime we have moved out for a year, and then back into the same house. Still the boxes are not opened. I have no idea what they contain; probably just some useless crap >:)

  6. Shits 'n giggles, I like that and intend to use it frequently for the rest of the week and if I see anything on the web about your print I'll send you a link. I've still got stuff in the shed I haven't unpacked for 2 and a half years, I really should have got round to it by now.

  7. All done very craftily!

I recently cut the bottoms out of a bunch of boxes of various sizes (the BOVSs) and lined my junk drawer. People laughed! But who's laughing now?! Mwa ha ha ha haaaaa.

Me, Mary and Erin call the time we get together to do little crafty things the "Farts and Craps Hour".

Thank you. Thank you very much. :-)

  11. Wow, I'm impressed. I've got to get myself organized!
The print is reminiscent of the old flower power album covers. Pretty cool. :)
