This is not an Art Blog

This is what I did today. I was going to read the book I got in the mail , but something happened  that upset me, so I decided to do something a little more therapeutic. It didn't turn out exactly how I expected, but I suppose I'll keep it even so.

She's called "Fade."
She's four feet tall, just one foot shorter than me.
I'd like to hang her up in my room, but every time I look at her, she makes me so sad, I just want to cry!
I know you can't see them on this crappy pic, but there are faded angry faces in the blue aura. Actually, you can't really see them even when you're standing right in front of the painting, so that was kind of a FAIL.

Maybe after I read my book, I'll get around to doing some actual writing.

  1. Interesting painting. You have a unique style, and that's all around.

  2. Why so sad, you?

I love your style. That poor gal in the neutral colors, arms wrapped to protect herself, can't even be bothered to sweep back that lock of hair. She needs a hug, followed by three margaritas and a good-sized bowl of guac and chips.

    That's my professional opinion.

    Hugs to you, my friend.

    1. Thanks. Don't be too impressed, though. I only spent a couple of hours on it.

  5. Hey, I like it. Sad looking but a little like 'The Scream.'

  6. If you really think so, Dicky. I'll let you buy it for a mere $120 million dollars. I hear that's what The Scream sold for a few weeks ago. A bargain!

  7. I want to give her a hug as well. I wish I could express myself through art but I can't even draw matchstick people properly. In two hours you say? Impressive.

    1. The two-hour stuff is always my best stuff. When I take too long on one piece, I start worrying it's not "good enough", then I ruin it with perfectionism.

  8. Oh dear, she does look unhappy. Yet, not totally broke. Not failed.
I'm w/Dicky- it is a bit Munch-like. Maybe a good scream is what she needs. ;)

Will be back for the poem! Must retrieve rug rats...

    1. She probably just needs a nap and a good cry, though sometimes screaming works much faster.
